How to Make Easy Tricolor Candles

This tutorial video will show you how to make easy tricolor candles at home. There is nothing quite like that warm glow of a burning wick, and the sensation it brings. They are the symbols of romance, hearth and home. They connect us to that light of hope and love in our hearts. There is just something spiritual about it.

When they are made as a gift, I like to think that they carry that sense of light and love from my home to theirs. Do this craft activity at home with your family, and use such candles to add to your collection of DIY home décor.

Supplies Needed

Soy Candle Wax

Natural Candle Wick

Hot Glue Gun

Glass Candle Holder

Crayons

Fragrance Oil

Glass Cups or Disposable Dixie Cups

Step by Step Instructions

1) Apply a dab of hot glue to the bottom of one of the natural candle wicks, and stick to the bottom of the glass candle holder. Allow to dry.
2) Pour some soy candle wax and a broken up crayon color of your choice into a glass cup or a disposable Dixie cup.
3) Put in microwave for about 2 minutes to melt.
4) Add your desired fragrance oil, and mix thoroughly.
5) Lean glass candle holder at an angle, and pour in melted candle wax mixture (you can tape a stack of quarters together to get your desired angle). Allow to dry.
6) Repeat steps #2 - #5 for your other wax colors.

I think there is something especially profound about homemade soy wax candles, because they are all natural, produce less soot and burn cleaner than paraffin, and produce a natural, beautiful shade of white, but they can also be colored or scented as desired.

By following the easy steps in this tutorial, your soy wax candle will be ready to light and show off. I have a few placed inside our house, and have already received plenty of compliments on them. Start making these beautiful candles, and give a unique look to your home!
